Terms of Use
These Terms of Use govern your use of Mimi. By using the service, you confirm that you have reviewed and agreed to these Terms.
1. Sharing Notes Inside Mimi
Share only material you have the right to share. By choosing sharing, you authorize the limited processing needed to store the selected material in the cloud, review it for safety and provide it to Mimi users who have the link. Permission from the source service for automated access, storage and AI processing is separate from the rights holder's permission for copying, translation, synthesized speech, commercial use and redistribution. A user's confirmation does not itself establish third-party permission.
2. Shared-Content Safety and Revocation
Do not share infringing, privacy-invasive, threatening, harassing, sexually exploitative, fraudulent or otherwise unlawful or harmful material. Mimi may review content before sharing, respond to reports, stop links and restrict a sender's sharing access. Stopping a link or deleting the source note or account prevents new receives but cannot recall independent copies already saved by recipients.
3. Sharing Limits and Charges
Guest and Free users can hold 10 active or preparing links in total; Pro users can hold 100. Each link is limited to 100 MB of text, images and audio combined. Stopping a link releases its slot. Pro expiry does not automatically stop existing links, but new creation follows the current limit. Receiving does not regenerate summaries, translations or audio and does not spend free AI uses or character credits. External MP3 export remains a Pro feature.
4. Scope
These Terms apply to the Mimi app, its cloud features, and related services. Additional conditions shown for a specific feature form part of these Terms.
5. Purpose of the Service
Mimi helps users organize text, images, audio, and other content they create or import for listening, learning, and personal information use.
6. Accounts and Guest Use
You must keep registration information accurate and protect your authentication credentials. In guest mode, data may become unavailable after the retention period shown in the app, if the app is deleted, when changing devices, or in other circumstances. Registration is required for features intended for registered accounts, including ongoing cloud synchronization.
7. User Content
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the rights or permissions needed for any content you enter, record, or import. Mimi does not acquire rights in your content beyond what is necessary to provide the service.
8. License to Mimi
You grant Mimi a non-exclusive permission to handle User Content only as needed to provide storage, synchronization, conversion, speech generation, backup, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention. This permission is limited to operating the service and ends after the relevant data is deleted, except where retention is legally or operationally required.
9. Cloud and AI Features
Some features use third-party cloud or AI services for speech synthesis, text processing, and related operations. The Privacy Policy and notices shown before using those features explain what data is sent, why it is used, where it is processed, and how it is stored. Optional cloud AI features may require separate consent before use.
10. Custom Voices
You may create a custom voice only from your own voice or from a voice you have valid permission to use. You must not record, copy, or imitate another person's voice without permission, impersonate another person, or use a custom voice for fraud, harassment, defamation, or any other unlawful or harmful purpose. You represent that you have all rights and permissions required for each recording you submit.
11. Paid Features
Prices, subscription periods, auto-renewal terms, and included features are shown before purchase. Purchases, renewals, cancellations, and refunds made through the App Store are also subject to Apple's terms and procedures. To stop auto-renewal, manage the subscription in your Apple Account settings before the next renewal date.
12. Prohibited Conduct
You must not violate laws or public order, infringe third-party rights, gain unauthorized access, interfere with the service, evade technical restrictions, or engage in other conduct Mimi reasonably considers inappropriate.
13. Rights in the App and Service
Rights in the software, design, trademarks, text, and other service elements, excluding User Content, belong to Mimi or their respective rights holders. These Terms do not transfer any right to use those elements beyond what is necessary to use the service.
14. Changes and Suspension
Mimi may change, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the service for maintenance, failures, legal requirements, or service improvements. We will provide advance notice of material changes where reasonably possible.
15. Restriction and Termination
Mimi may restrict features, remove content, or suspend an account without prior notice where a user violates these Terms, misuse or safety concerns arise, or action is legally required. You may stop using the service through the procedures made available to you.
16. Data Management
You are responsible for managing your data. Mimi applies reasonable safeguards, but we recommend keeping copies of important data through available export or backup options.
17. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
Mimi does not guarantee uninterrupted operation or that generated results will be complete or accurate. To the extent permitted by law, liability is limited except where Mimi acts intentionally or with gross negligence, or where liability cannot legally be limited.
18. Changes to These Terms
Mimi may update these Terms to reflect changes in law, features, or the service. Material changes will be announced in the app with their effective date, and renewed consent will be requested when required.
19. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Unless applicable law provides otherwise, the Tokyo District Court has exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance for disputes relating to the service.
